Thanksgiving 2010

this is Daphne being thankful for Julie's bed. our dear friend Julie invited us to housesit while she was on vacation over Thanksgiving. It turned out to be perfect timing as we were hit with a huge snowstorm, blizzard AND earthquake all in one day. Daphne LOVED being cozy in J's bed, alas creature comforts.

sunday, monday & tuesday prior to Thanksgiving was a glorious time of snow. we were able to walk everywhere in town and really get a good holiday fix with that beautiful white stuff. Thanksgiving morning we strolled into our empty downtown, bundled to death, grabbed a latte and then came back for some sourdough pancakes by Bob.
i really love Julies mugs

recent baking book buy - a good one.

i altered this recipe a lot. omitted ham, but added chives, green onion, parmesan, cottage cheese.....recipe from a Lopez Island bakery, Holly B's.

Lauren loves Julies mugs too.
I adore spending Thanksgiving with friends. It seldom works out, but this year we were blessed to spend it with our lovely ladies Lauren and Chandra. They brought some incredible spring rolls and peanut sauce for an app, and a traditional green bean casserole to share.

Cha likes green.
hanging out while i make the wild rice cakes
they clearly spend to much time together & thank god Bob shaved that mustache.
sniffing knitted birds
the grub : green bean casserole, roasted brussel sprouts, wild rice and chanterelle cakes, dijon cream sauce and savory biscuits.
