sunday van party

bob and luke chose a real hum dinger of a day to work on the vans.
a rainy, chilly washington afternoon & lots of time tinkering with starters and batteries. but as we speak, i hear Rico humming beautifully outside...hard work paid off and so did the beer, pizza and most importantly...camaraderie!
hmmmmm, looks about right
hmmmmmm....looks tasty
greasy hands don't get to touch the good chocolate

popcorn, pizza & vans

greasy van hands don't work well with popcorn.
a mid work snack with cracked pepper, sea salt & nutritional yeast

whole wheat dough waiting to be shaped

pommes frites at brouwers

what a treat. both frites and many mayo dippings to go along. no challenge for a simons gal like me, as my soon to be brother in law Patrick says about my sister Meghan: if it's white and creamy, she'll order it. guess some things run in the family.
a quick shot of what a bourbon menu should look like ~ no early times here.
top three beers we tasted:
Walkingman Knuckledragger ~ Strong Pale Ale chock full of Simcoe and Columbus hops with a solid malt backbone.
Hair of the Dog
Anderson Valley ~ Hop Ottin IPA
Generous additions of high-alpha Pacific Northwest hops added during a vigorous boil, plus traditional dry hopping, with whole hop cones, give this ale a delicious citrus aroma, and an intense hoppy bite.
