scenic byway.
by far, the most beautiful part of the trip was the drive through North Cascades, to Mazama, through the Methow Valley and then all the way to the Pend Orrille River.

and hiking just outside Glacier National Park

fire, fire, fire

a large portion of central and eastern washington was experiencing horrific forest fires as we were passing through. Mainly the Methow Valley outside of Mazama...again where we got smoked out of climbing. The sun was a strange red orb that cast a pink tink over everything as we drove through smoke most of the way.

Tasty mc tastersons

just an extention from home

crittermals

dang, we ran into a ton of wild turkey's....all over! Daphne expecially liked chasing them, all you had to say was " Tom Turkey's Dootie !!!" and she'd take off running

welcome to montana

bobby and daphne get cozy while we enjoy the liberal laws of montana - happy hour while driving.

Tally Lake, Montana

free camping on Tally Lake in the National Forest just north of Whitefish Montana, a great recommendation from the employe at the 3rd street co-op - we thank you kindly!

eastern montana

eastern montana was sort of a love hate relationship for us. once we left our camping in Sluice Boxes, just around the Bent River...a very desolate, yet georgous area...we didn't have much else to experience except wierd rural road workers who stopped us, then proceeded to tell us that we better not be some Californians' bringin' our liberal ideas to Montana, because Montanan isn't a state...it is it's own country!

teddy roosevelt national park

sunset in the teddy roosevelt national grasslands where we camped, just outside the state park. north dakota.
