this has been a really rough week for Bobby & for us. tuesday was spent all day at the ER because Bobby was exhibiting severe back/abdominal pain followed with heavy panting and a hunched back & curling his legs under. we did ultra sounds and x-rays but nothing indicated an injury to the spine, a tumor in the spine or abdominal bleeding. we left with only the assumption that the cancer was causing discomfort and that we now knew it had been spreading to his spleen, kidney's and perineum (the lining that surrounds the stomach and intestines). during the course of the week we were back 3 times with him as he had a bad reaction to two types of meds and was vomiting and diarrhea for 24 hours, unable to keep down any meds or fluids. friday night was a bit hairy as we prayed that he would stabilize for us (we had injections done at the hospital and took him home with us). If not, saturday would be an even tougher day. but instead he slept soundly, kept down ice chips and woke up this morning with a little more energy and pep. Today he has been eating small amounts of turkey & rice, small amounts of water (see hose pics!) and has been getting his meds at home with injections. Just hoping that the days to come are as restful and painless for my big old boy.
