sunday in seattle
bob and i decided that we needed a fresh day outside of port townsend with the freedom of our bikes. sunday looked good for weather, so we loaded up the xtracycle & the surly and left pt with egg burrito's and lattes in hand. biking in seattle has by far been the best way to have a "day date". you can actually move faster than traffic, burn off all the vegan donuts, macrina & pomme frites that you can cram into your gob and have the luxury of parking right in front of the door. Our first stop (sorry no pics, was to hungry) was Macrina Bakery on Queen Anne where we sampled a few things from our cookbook that we haven't dared make yet: Lemon Lavender Coffee Cake & The Rocket Muffin. With our first stop, i also learned that i am in great need of hill training on my bike. My lung capacity is small in comparison with Bob and my stability while climbing steep terrain could surely use some finesse.....Next stop Mighty - O Donuts in Tangle Town. These tastey little pockets of sweetness are completely vegan and organic...they also serve Stumptown Coffee which is out of this world. We had the Ethiopia Tega and Tula, with the taste and texture of maple syrup, flavors of strawberry lemonade, oregon pluot, manadrin orange and fig.
