lake of angels - putvin trail 813

getting started on the trail ~ lake of angels is in the Mt. Skokomish Wilderness and ends up in the National Park (dogs were illegal, too bad). this trail offers two small sections of relatively flat terrain, this first intial traverse and one small jaunt on the old forest road. this hike has been by far the most difficult hike we've yet to do. Not only was the terrain absolutely staggerd with rocks, roots, loose gravel and boulders but it was unbelievalby steep in addition to. Going down proved to be even more trecherous and knee busting.
this actaully is part of the trail. there were two small sections that required a bit of rock climbing technique and hoisting of the dogs with their harnesses while somewhat belaying them with their leashes. for the first time i witnessed what seemed to be the threshold for Bobby...Daphne on the other hand was blazing the trail with no fear.
trying to go down while getting situated for the belay of bobby...ruff wear harnesses, i don't know what we would without them!
a small section of the trail that offered a small amount of relief but smelled like stinky tennis shoes for about 10 feet.
